Wow---- just WOW! 2 Unexpected sweeps to start playoff season!

Tampa Bay just issued an apology to their fans. They should have waited, they will only have to tweet out another if they lose Point to an offer sheet. Looking at next season, they have only 16 players signed ( only 4 d-men ) and only $6.2 mill to spend. How can they sign Brayden? Will be hard to field a roster with those numbers, so many players have NMC/NTC they can't just trade their way out.

Congrats to Fishsticks, still hate them, but I got perverse pleasure seeing Cryby getting bounced so quickly. Penguins have problems looking ahead to next season too.

Kakko, Kravtsov and Shesty coming ------ can't stop smiling!!!

We want STL COL CAR DAL VGK to win. If that happens the WPG pick is #16. Every team listed above that gets eliminated pushes the pick back one.

Very true. Penguins have an aging core, a lot of passengers on their team eating up valuable cap space, and a pretty bare prospect pool.

Still, knew this point would come. just makes me enjoy the past 12 years. To think where the Penguins are now versus in 2004. Two completely different worlds.

I hope AV fails in Philly, but I think he'll get them into the playoffs next season and Giroux, Voracek, and JVR will have great seasons

Ryan McDonagh really struggled being the man with Hedman out, he looked like he did at the end with the Rangers.

In fact, Tampa looked a lot like the 2016 Rangers did in that first round vs Penguins.

he never was comfortable being the "C" or the #1D - a great #2D though!

Next year will be a true test for AV in Philly, they have a bunch of solid pieces. Something in that core seems cancerous. Ever since they have built their core around Giroux and Voracek, they have been wildly inconsistent. I'm not sure if AV is equipped to handle those kind of issues along with a ton of younger players coming along at once.

With the news of Shesty, I doubt Georgie plays another game for us again. Kind of a shame. Even though I was on team trade Georgie when his value was the highest, he really did everything he could possibly do and then some to show he belongs in the league.

Please I hope we steer clear of Karlsson.

I cant wait to see who signs him for what. I cant imagine anyone giving him a huge 8 yr 10M contract considering his age and injury history... but you know someone will

This is spot on. Great #2 dman. Not many #1s in this league so you need to build a very good top 4

Yep. At least with the Pens, they have 3 cups to show for Malkin and Crosby before they decline. Tampa has zilch. The two guys they really could build around Point and Kucherov they are going to struggle to keep in the fold due to cap issues. I really wish we could offer something for Point, but I don't think our prospect group is quite deep enough yet to pull it off.
